France fines 4,095 for leaving home

FRENCH police yesterday handed out more than 4,000 fines to people found violating an order to stay home, on the first full day of a lockdown aimed at slowing the spread of Covid-19. “Since this morning, we have begun procedures, and 4,095 people were booked ,” Interior Minister Christophe Castaner told TF1 television.
