Fran Drescher, best known for her iconic role as Fran Fine in The Nanny, discussed the possibility of another sitcom in a recent podcast. She also gave a few answers fans of her work may not want to hear.

Drescher was a guest on the Everybody Knows Your Name podcast on February 18. During the interview, Ted Danson asked The Nanny star whether she would stick to film or was open to anything. Drescher replied,"Well, I don't see myself doing another sitcom." The actress seemed surprised when Danson replied,"Nor I — at least the three-camera live. That takes a lot." The Saturday Night Fever star continued,"You know, it's just the idea of going to the sound stage every day. The last one that I did wasn't my show. I played the mom in it, and I really didn't..." The actress paused before finishing her sentence,"I loved the people. But I didn't enjoy the experience that much." We were shooting it over the winter months. It was pretty dark when I entered the stage, and it was dark when I left it. And I thought I just lost the whole day. The actress asked, "Was it worth it? Is this how I would have wanted to spend the day if it turned out to be the last day of my life? And it wasn't." The Hollywood Knights star stated that it might be more"stimulating" if she were writing and executive producing."But in this situation, I think just playing the mom in it, it just wasn't enough for me. And I felt like I could have been doing other things during my day." Later in the interview, Danson asked,"Do you think you'd be happy just being an actor doing wonderful films and roles and everything? Or do you want to go to be a producer director?" And Drescher gave a somewhat cagey reply. I like wearing multiple hats because, especially in movies, there is a lot of sitting around, and I like to multitask. While the This Is Spinal Tap actress admitted it's"exciting to be in movies," and she enjoys supporting and promoting her films, she finds the sitting around"excruciating." And though she loves the end result of a movie, when it comes to a series, Drescher, later concluded, she's not so sure. Expand Collapse
