) - FOX10 News once again spent the day at Camp Smile. It’s a camp designed for children and adults with special needs. And FOX10 volunteered by serving lunch to the campers and counselors.“They get to feel just like everybody else. They get to do all the things that places typically wouldn’t allow to do or wouldn’t help them to do. So it makes a huge difference in their lives. We have campers who wait for it all year long,” Assistant Director Jana Williams said.
“The biggest thing is that it’s not about yourself. It’s about your camper. And when he’s happy, I’m happy. And that’s always what we shoot for. Because we’re not trying to change them in a week. We’re trying to help them have a great time. That’s our goal,” Tucker Schibler said.“Thank you for your support. Causey Middle School, I’ll be seeing you next year. I’m all here for you. Thank you!”
And United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile offers all kinds of other opportunities. The non-profit organization specializes in helping people with special needs. Their programs start as early as birth and they work with hundreds of families in our community.
