Pete Hegseth walks to an elevator for a meeting with President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York on Dec. 15, 2016.Fox News host Brian Kilmeade is questioning why his former colleague Pete Hegseth is facing so many personal attacks after President-elect Donald Trump selected him to lead the Defense Department.
On Tuesday, Kilmeade pressed Trump adviser Jason Miller on why Hegseth, along with other Trump nominees, has faced so much pushback. “But does the volume of the attacks surprise you, and does it make the President what does it make the president waver or wonder?” he added. “You look also say with the Tulsi Gabbard pick, you look at the mentality that President Trump is bringing in, saying the US should not be the world police. We’re going to bring peace. We’re going to bring stabilityKeep in mind, under his first four years, the only time in history we’ve never had a war. That’s what he’s going to bring back in. Pete Hegseth will be an important part of that,” he added.
