"The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts," the Office of Education wrote on its website.County beachgoers were advised to stay out of all coastal beaches and bays because of the danger of rain bringing water runoff, which can cause bacteria levels to rise significantly, officials said Sunday.
The winter storm brought a band of heavy rain and mountain snow to San Diego County on Sunday as a cold front moved southeast across the region. A small craft advisory was issued until 4 p.m. Monday for coastal waters from San Mateo Point to the Mexican Border and out to 30 nautical miles of waters from San Mateo Point to the Mexican border extending 30 to 60 nautical miles out including San Clemente Island.
