Lynsey Crombie, better known as the Queen of Clean, has shared a simple and natural way to prevent ants from invading your home this summer.

Summer is here and while warm weather brings joy to most Brits, it also makes homes vulnerable to ant invasions.

Luckily, Lynsey Crombie, popularly known as Queen of Clean, has shared a unique tip to fend off ants this summer season. During her stint on the ITV show This Morning, she mentioned that using common children's chalk can act as a simple and organic deterrent against an ant intrusion, reports the Mirror. She said: "If you get a piece of chalk and use it to draw a line, the ants stop and turn around. They won't go over it.

For a more useful solution, you can try spreading talcum powder at your door entrance, which forms an obstruction and prevents ants from entering your house. Lynsey said: "What you do with the talc is you create a mountain, so put it under your skirting boards, squeeze it right in and it stops them from coming in the base as they can't push the talc out.

Using talcum powder is a natural, safe way to keep ants at bay, and its effectiveness can be boosted by placing mint leaves near entry points, as ants are repelled by such scents. Holding up a mint plant, Lynsey advised: "If you've got a massive ant problem, pop this outside your door. It will stop them from coming in as they hate the smell of mint."
