Four people are charged in connection with a Wednesday incident that started with a call to police around 6:40 a.m., city police reported Thursday in a media release.The anonymous caller reported seeing someone in a vehicle with a gun. Patrol officers spotted the vehicle in the 800 block of 22nd Street West shortly after the report came in.
A high-risk traffic stop was conducted and six people were ordered out of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle and ammunition, the release said. Investigation indicated the victim may have been abducted at gunpoint and illegally held in the vehicle before it was pulled over, police said. He was not injured.
Two women, 32 and 23, and a 17-year-old girl are charged with using a gun to commit an abduction and using a gun to unlawfully confine, along with other weapons offences. A 28-year-old man is also facing gun-related charges.Article contentA 51-year-old woman was released without charges.
