John Hutchinson, 44, bled to death from an internal injury after being attacked
John Hutchinson, 44, collapsed at a flat in Scorton Avenue, Blackpool on April 10, 2023. When paramedics arrived they thought he had suffered an overdose and administered emergency medicine, however it emerged he suffered a ruptured spleen after being struck with what is believed to have been a hammer.
Following the robbery, Cunningham, 33, called Lee Clarke, 33, a dealer he worked for who was living on of Greenall Court in Prescot. Cunningham told him he had been robbed by "a lad called Hutchy." McCabe, who had been begging for money in the New Road Inn, Blackpool, was overheard on the phone saying: "I've got to go after some guy. I want to kill him. I've got to kill him. I need some money."
The three men broke into the flat through a smashed kitchen window and set upon Mr Hutchinson. He was hit with a hammer and his head was stamped on, the court heard. Bond then told Clarke to "make sure he gets rid of the hammer and get all that s**t in a fresh JD bag."
