State Rep. Nate Schatzline, R-Fort Worth, announced Monday he would not seek reelection next year after he accepted a position to a national faith-based outreach coalition.AUSTIN — State Rep. Nate Schatzline, a Republican from Fort Worth, announced Monday he would not seek reelection next year after he accepted a position to a national faith-based outreach coalition.

Schatzline was first elected in 2022 to represent a district that includes the north side of Fort Worth and stretches to the northern part of Tarrant County. He won reelection in 2024. “It has never been more clear that the battle for our nation is not political, it is spiritual,” Schatzline posted on social media. “It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to represent Texas House District 93 and to fight for our Texas Conservative values.” 🚨BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: It has never been more clear that the battle for our nation is not political, it is spiritual. In his two legislative sessions, Schatzline filed legislation that focused on culture war topics, such as LGBTQ+ issues, and diversity, equity and inclusion programs in state government. In June, Schatzline said he would run to fill the state Senate seat vacated by Sen. Kelly Hancock, after the latter resigned his seat to take a senior position in the state comptroller’s office.Aarón is an Austin native who previously covered local government for The Kansas City Star and high school sports for the Knoxville News Sentinel.
