One of the long surviving members of the Forrest family’s inner circle has quit as chief financial officer of the clean energy arm of Fortescue.
into allegations of a relationship with a staff member that cleared Dr Forrest, the company’s executive chairman, of any wrongdoing.
It is understood FFI remains confident investment decisions it has in the pipeline will not be delayed by Ms Gooding’s departure sometime in September., FFI boss Mark Hutchinson said Ms Gooding had been central to the growth and development of the business.
She was Minderoo’s deputy chief executive from 2020 to that point, and was its chief operating officer and chief financial officer for six years from 2014. Ms Gooding is a non-executive director of Fortescue-backed Zhero and sits on the board of The Freedom Fund alongside the Forrests’ eldest daughter, Grace.Ms Gooding, a mother of two, has previously served as the Forrest representative on ASX-listed companies, including Poseidon Nickel and Vimy Resources.
“I am looking forward to seeing FFI thrive while pursuing other opportunities in the clean energy transition.”, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family and serving a three-week notice period. He became the ninth senior executive to leave Fortescue in a two-year period.
