The ownership of Formula 1, Liberty Media, is currently under the microscope of the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division. The probe centers on the contentious decision by Formula 1 to block the Andretti Global and Cadillac partnership from joining the pinnacle of motorsport as its 11th competing team.
'Despite the controversy, Maffei maintains that F1's decisions were within legal bounds.'We believe our determination, F1's determination, was in compliance with all applicable US antitrust laws, and we've detailed the rationale for our decision, vis-a-vis Andretti in prior statements,' he noted.
