Sundowns reached the halfway mark on Friday with a 2-0 away win at Richards Bay to open 10 points lead over second placed SuperSport United.The Brazilians have gathered 37 points from 15 games dropping points in only three games after defeats to TS Galaxy and SuperSport United and a draw against Sekhukhune United.

Sundowns hold the record haul of 71 points set in the 2015/16 season under Pitso Mosimane when they won 22 and drew five.They have already won 12 and need another 35 points from the remaining 15 games to set a new record which should be at least 72 points but could stretch to 74 if they accumulate the same number of points in the second half.
