Former West Coast Eagles player Daniel Venables has reactivated a legal case against the club and the AFL over a head injury he received in 2019.

A third defendant, neurologist and associate professor Paul Robert McRory, was appointed by the AFL as a health professional. A District Court judge in Perth has removed the matter from the inactive cases list, and Venables has been given 28 days to file an application.Drafted by West Coast from Victoria in 2016, the midfielder was the Eagles youngest 2018 premiership player, aged just 19.
He has spoken about receiving a lack of support and wanting to work with the AFL and other organisations to prevent head trauma in sport.Brad Sheppard claim pendingsuing West Coast, the AFL and two doctors over claims of "medical negligence."
