A former water polo coach in Fort Worth, Texas, has been arrested on multiple charges related to child abuse. Authorities are investigating reports of abuse that allegedly occurred during his time coaching at a private water polo club.
Adrian Joseph Maher was arrested in Roanoke, Texas, on Wednesday on charges related to child abuse , according to a news release from the Fort Worth Police Department. The arrest stems from reports of abuse that allegedly occurred during Maher's tenure as a coach at an unnamed private water polo club. Police stated that Maher was subsequently terminated from his position shortly after the allegations surfaced.
Maher is facing multiple charges, including online solicitation of a minor and indecency with a child/sexual contact. He is currently being held at the Tarrant County jail, and his bond has not yet been set. The police department urges parents of any children who may have had contact with Maher to come forward if they suspect any form of abuse.
