Steve Berry reckons the BBC shouldn't have put the cricket star at the helm of the show.
A former star of Top Gear has slammed the BBC for putting Freddie Flintoff at the helm of the show after his horror crash which almost killed him.
“The problem for me with the modern Top Gear is you’re asking a cricketer to do things that really should be done by people who know what they’re doing.”The cricket legend, whose real name is Andrew, was seen for the first time since his ordeal last week when he was spotted helping out the England Cricket Team.
The BBC halted filming after the incident, with the future of Top Gear in tatters. In a statement they said: “Under the circumstances, we feel it would be inappropriate to resume making series 34 of Top Gear at this time. A BBC statement at the time said: “We have sincerely apologised to Freddie and will continue to support him with his recovery. Our primary concern is and has been for the welfare of Freddie – as well as the Top Gear team. All health and safety procedures were followed on site and the incident is now being fully investigated, in line with standard policy and practice."Last week we reported Freddie has been praised by English cricket stars, saying it was "great" having him back.
