The jury found former president Donald Trump guilty of all 34 felony counts against him. Former Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley discusses the likely sentence.
Former Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley said she was not surprised by the jury's verdict in former president Donald Trump 's criminal hush money trial. 'I thought this would be the verdict. I thought it could have taken longer,' Coakley said. The jury found the former president guilty of all 34 felony counts against him. They delivered their verdict late Thursday afternoon after two days of deliberations that spanned 9 1/2 hours.
'He was released on his own recognizance today. That's no surprise,' Coakley said. 'I think the judge even indicated that for this kind of crime, an individual might not necessarily go to jail. So all things being equal, that it's a former president running for office, I don't think that this defendant is going to get a jail sentence from this judge.'Coakley believes Trump will be placed on probation, most likely.
