Julia Dallas, KIRO 7 NewsAt Saturday’s Kraken game against the Dallas Stars, former Seattle Storm player and 4-time Woman National Basketball Association Champion, Sue Bird honored the work of a local activist, said the Seattle Kraken in a news release.
“Sahar Fathi is a gifted organizer, attorney, and longtime advocate for immigrants,” said the release. “Since global protests broke out after the death of a young Iranian woman while in the custody of Iran’s morality police, Sahar has been raising money to support Iranian women’s fight for basic human rights. Sahar led protests here in Seattle.” “We stand with those women and their fight,” said Bird.
