Question marks hang over revised Shankly Hotel plansThe new apartments would be built following the demolition of a two-storey canteen and office storage building and its associated footbridge link. The building was used as a sixth form centre when the college as operating.The proposals were submitted byThe development includes 27 one-bedroom apartments and eight two-bedroom apartments.

Two objections to the proposals have been received concerned about the loss of light and the application ‘understates the history setting of the site’.There’s also an objection from the city council’s waste management department, saying the bin store is ‘of insufficient size’. It’s expected an amended proposal to address the issue is expected before the planning committee meeting on Thursday .The site operated as a Jesuit grammar school for boys until 1978. The school opened in 1865.
