Former Buckeye forward Seth Towns will play his final year of college basketball at Howard University.
Towns hasn't played a game since the 2020-21 season, as a preseason back injury cost him the entirety of the 2021-22 campaign and he opted to step away from the Ohio State basketball program before the start of 2022-23, citing "a few setbacks this summer and some tough conversations with my coaches and medical personnel."
A Columbus native and Northland High School alum, Towns started his college career at Harvard in 2016-17 and was named the Ivy League Player of the Year the following season. However, knee injuries sidelined him for the subsequent two full seasons. Towns transferred to Ohio State in the spring of 2020 and played in 25 games for the Buckeyes, averaging 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in 10.8 minutes per game as he helped the team receive its highest seed in the NCAA Tournament in eight years.
Towns never played another game in scarlet and gray after that season, but his college career will continue in 2023-24 with a Howard program that appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1992 this past season after winning the MEAC Tournament.

Crews work to reach Italian towns isolated by floods as cleanup beginsRescue crews are working to reach towns and villages in northern Italy that were cut off from highways, electricity and cell phone service following heavy rains and flooding. Farmers are warning of “incalculable” losses and authorities have begun mapping out cleanup and reconstruction plans. The death toll from rains that pushed two dozen rivers and tributaries to burst their banks stood at nine, with some people still unaccounted-for. The drought-parched region of Emilia-Romagna had already estimated some 1 billion euros in losses from heavy rains earlier this month. But officials said the losses now reached multiple billions given the widespread damage to farmland, storefronts and infrastructure from this week’s flooding.
