Arkansas fired its offensive coordinator and promoted a former Ohio State quarterback.
Former Ohio State quarterback Kenny Guiton, shown here as an assistant at Rice in 2018, has been promoted to interim offensive coordinator at Arkansas Guiton, in his third season as wide receivers coach, was promoted to interim offensive coordinator. Guiton previously served as a receivers coach at Houston, Louisiana Tech and Colorado State.
Guiton was one of the most popular backup quarterbacks in recent Buckeye history. He replaced an injured Braxton Miller in a 2012 game against Purdue and led a comeback victory that preserved a 12-0 season. He started two gams in Miller’s place the following season as well, throwing six first-half touchdown passes against Florida A&M.
Arkansas is 2-6 and 0-5 in the SEC, but the 32-year old Guiton will have the remainder of the season to try on this role and audition for a more permanent designation.
