Jason Dawson, 35, a former girls basketball coach at Worthington Christian High School, apparently took his own life, reports say.

In March, he was arrested in Charlotte, N.C., on two counts of sexual battery and one count of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, all felonies. He was free after posting a $100,000 bond.
His death comes a day after a federal complaint charged him with sexual exploitation of a minor and distribution or possession of child pornography, the Dispatch reports.. One victim tells police she was a 16-year-old sophomore at Worthington Christian in 2021 when her relationship with Dawson became sexual. Her relationship with Dawson continued until September 2023.
Court records show the victim says she had intercourse with Dawson multiple times and that he sometimes made videos. Dawson was the girls basketball coach at Worthington for three years, moving to North Carolina in 2022.
