The former Real Madrid shot-stopper has enjoyed a long career but looks to continue for a while yet
The Costa Rica international joined Nottingham Forest in January 2023 in a loan deal to fill in for the then-injured Dean Henderson. He initially showed promise during his debut against Leeds United after the game he was awarded Player of the Match. He made 17 appearances for Forest as he helped them maintain their Premier League status in their first season back in English football’s top flight.
He then returned to his parent club Paris Saint-Germain but struggled to maintain a first-team spot with Gianluigi Donnarumma being the preferred choice for the Parisians. Last season he looked set to move to the Saudi Pro League when Al Hilal showed interest but he decided to remain in the French capital for another season. He then announced his departure from PSG in May.
Now, he looks set to move to Italian side Monza - based near Milan - Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on X with a post that read: “Keylor Navas to Monza, here we go! Deal in place for Costa Rica GK to join Italian side as free agent. After leaving PSG, Navas accepts Monza proposal and he’s travelling this week for medical tests. Deal off for Pierluigi Gollini as Monza will sign Keylor.”
When the deal is completed, the Italians will become Navas’ seventh club across a career spanning nearly two decades.
