She said that Williams smiled when a friend played one of his highlight videos for him, but he remains in a long struggle.Williams was hospitalized on Sept. 1 andafter a steel beam fell on his head at a construction site in Hillsborough County, Fla. on Aug. 21. The initial on-site incident wasn’t believed to be fatal, but the laceration became infected, two friends said. Williams was taken to a hospital and eventually induced into a coma.“He goes hard in everything he does,” Lyle told WIVB4.
Williams, after playing at Syracuse, spent five seasons in the NFL — four with the Buccaneers and his final year with the Bills, after being drafted in the fourth round by Tampa Bay in 2010. Williams finished second for Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2010 after recording 65 receptions for 964 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 2014, he was traded to his hometown teamIn 63 games in his NFL career, Williams had 223 receptions for 3,089 and 26 touchdowns.
