Dawkins played the majority of his career for the Colts. He also had stints with the New Orleans Saints, Seatlle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars.His best statistical season, according to the Post report, was as a member of the Seahawks in 1999. Dawkins set career highs with seven touchdowns, 992 receiving yards, and 17.1 yards per reception.
Dawkins was standout as a college player at the University of California. He was voted a consensus All-American as a junior in 1992 He played on the 1990 and 1991 Cal teams that posted a combined 17-6-1 record and won the 1990 Copper Bowl and 1991 Citrus Bowl.Dawkins caught 120 passes for 2,028 yards with 31 touchdowns during his three seasons at Cal, according to the SI.com report. His career TD total and his single-season mark of 14 in ‘92 both remain school records.
