Former NFL star Greg Hardy has suffered another huge setback in his combat sports career

The 34-year-old was an overwhelming favourite against Josh Watson at BKFC: Knucklemania 3 which took place at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque on Friday night.Despite his underdog status, Watson came out fast and managed to tag Hardy with several sharp punches in the early stages of the fight.

Hardy survived the onslaught and took control of the bout with his slick left jab that kept his opponent at bay for the majority of round one. However, in the final few seconds of the first frame, Watson landed a huge punch that sensationally sent Hardy crashing into the ropes and forced referee Dan Miragliotta to give him a standing eight count. In round two, Watson landed a big right that put Hardy down for good. He was out cold for a couple of seconds before trying and failing to beat the count. In 2010, his career in elite sports started when he was a sixth-round draft pick in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers.
