A former NFL player was arrested on a Delta Air Lines flight.

On Monday, the former offensive tackle posted on social media to say medication was the cause of his actions. Cherilus said the flight was delayed for roughly four hours and was set to depart until 12:30 a.m. “In preparation for the unexpected overnight flight, I took a sleeping medication that I don’t normally use, which resulted in behavior that is not representative of my character, and I would like to apologize to the passengers and flight crew.
Police said troopers boarded the plane and “verbally commanded Cherilus to leave the plane, but he became irate and uncooperative.”“Delta has zero tolerance for unlawful behavior and will cooperate with law enforcement to that end,” an airline spokesperson said in a statement toCherilus was a 2008 first-round draft by the Detroit Lions . He also played for the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers .. He can be heard on “The Opening Kickoff” on WNSP-FM 105.
