Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh spent 13 seasons in the NBA and earned more than $20 million a season at his peak, until a series of blood clots permanently sidelined him in 2016.
Bosh is determined to understand everything himself and says he sits down with his financial advisor on a monthly basis to"go over everything, line by line." He reflects on the missteps he made early in his career that he vows never to repeat. That goes for basketball players like Bosh as well:"Within five years of retirement, an estimated 60 percent of former NBA players are broke."
