Manchester United welcomed former striker Dong Fangzhuo back to Old Trafford for Saturday afternoon's Premier League clash with Luton Town .
Dong joined the Reds for an initial fee of £500,000, which could have risen to £3.5million, depending on the number of appearances he made for the Reds. Following initial issues obtaining a work permit, Dong made his competitive debut for United in May 2007, starting a 0-0 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League. He started in attack alongside former United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Dong left the club in August 2008 after he and United mutually agreed to terminate his contract. He returned to former club Dalian Shide and later returned to Europe with Legia Warsaw in 2010.
