Jordon Ricker, a former MacArthur High School football player, has been named the head football coach and school athletic coordinator for his alma mater. Ricker, who has served as a defensive coordinator at Alamo Heights and Johnson, expressed his excitement to return to MacArthur and give back to the community that shaped him.
When Jordon Ricker graduated from MacArthur in 2007, he’d always hoped he could returned to be the school’s head football coach. The North East ISD school board helped him achieve that goal on Monday night when it approved him to be the Brahmas football coach and school athletic coordinator.
“I’ve worked with some amazing coaches, amazing administration and amazing kids at every stop I’ve been at, and I think each person teaches you a little bit about yourself and how to do the right things,” Ricker said. Ricker inherits a down-on-its-luck program that’s gone 7-62 in its last seven seasons and last made the playoffs in 2017. Ricker knows the program is capable of more and offered his experiences at MacArthur as proof.
