Middle Bass is the quieter cousin of nearby Put-in-Bay – but it’s not quite as quiet as it used to be.

Wolnik said the idea started because she wanted a good cup of coffee on the island. She approached the state with the idea for a coffee shop at the marina – and they suggested the former Lonz location.

“You’ll be able to sit at the bar and look out at the lake and enjoy some entertainment,” she said. “There are so many possibilities about what can be done here.” Andy Chow, press secretary for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, said renovations should be complete by 2026.
