DeBoer moves into the new city role following position with the county.
The Aurora City Council this week approved the appointment of Kameron DeBoer as the new animal control manager. Aldermen approved the appointment made by Mayor Richard Irvin. DeBoer replaces Anna Payton, who left the position in April. “We’re very excited to have someone of her experience and caliber,” said Alex Alexandrou, Aurora’s chief management officer. DeBoer has been the kennel programs and operation manager for Kane County Animal Control since 2019.
She oversaw all daily activities within the shelter including but not limited to: staffing, communications with the veterinarian, care and cleaning of animals, social media, enrichment, volunteers, transfer of animals, inventory and euthanasia. She also assisted in hiring and training new employees, and kept all veterinary records of animals in the shelter. From January 2019 to August 2019, she was the animal control warden there.
