A former Massachusetts deputy police chief credited for building the Hopkinton Police Department’s school resource officer program is accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

John Porter, the 54-year-old former Hopkinton Deputy Chief of Police, is now facing three counts of Rape of a Child after being indicted by a grand jury, according to Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan. The Hopkinton Police Department, which is located between Worcester and Boston, declined comment to Fox News Digital when asked about the matter.
