A man, believed to be 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger, a former Green Beret , died after setting a Tesla on fire outside President-elect Donald Trump's Las Vegas hotel. Officials said Livelsberger shot himself in the head before the explosion. The blast was mostly contained within the truck due to its steel siding, preventing more significant damage to the hotel.
Authorities found a second firearm, fireworks, a passport, military ID, credit cards, an iPhone, and a smartwatch inside the charred vehicle. Investigators are still working to confirm Livelsberger's identity, but IDs and tattoos on the body strongly suggest it is him. He was on approved leave from the Army at the time of his death.
