A former Fox Sports reporter and anchor, Julie Stewart-Binks, has filed a lawsuit against the network and its top executive, Charlie Dixon, alleging sexual assault . Stewart-Binks claims that in 2016, Dixon, who was then the executive vice president of content, invited her to his hotel room under the pretense of discussing Super Bowl plans.
She alleges that once there, Dixon berated her for her perceived lack of talent and then physically assaulted her, pushing her against the wall, pinning her arms, and attempting to force his tongue into her mouth. Stewart-Binks says she managed to escape and attended a Super Bowl meeting the next day where she was pressured to confront New England Patriots tight end Ron Gronkowski about his past. She alleges that this pressure stemmed from Dixon's previous comments and her desire to prove she could be entertaining. Stewart-Binks says she faced immediate backlash on social media for her actions, but remained silent outwardly due to pressure from Fox. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for emotional distress and asks Fox to take action to prevent future sexual abuse. Stewart-Binks claims she was inspired to speak out after seeing a lawsuit filed by a former Fox hairstylist who made similar allegations against Dixon. Fox Sports released a statement saying that the allegations are from over eight years ago and that they promptly hired a third-party firm to investigate at the time.
