He last was seen as the manager for the Los Angeles Angels in 2019 but hasn’t taken a leading job since. Ausmus did work as a bench coach for the Oakland Athletics in 2022 as well.
Ausmus was one of the bigger names in the sport when the Angels hired him on, but he failed to live up to expectations with them. He was fired after just one year into his three-year contract with the team. The former LA catcher only played one year with the Dodgers during the 2009-2010 season, and he retired from playing after that year. But he was known as a solid defensive player during his time, and it reflected in how he managed the teams he led. During his career, he was a three-time Gold Glove winner, and he made the 1999 All-Star team.
