On Friday, July 17, it was reported that Deion Garcia, 29, learned his sentence after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges, including attempted molestation of a child and sexual conduct with a minor. The statement also revealed that Garcia will receive lifetime supervised probation following his release.
The investigation into Garcia was launched in May 2024 after a parent of one of his victims reported him for sexual abuse while he was working at a children's dental office in Chandler, Arizona. The parent of a 6-year-old girl claimed that Garcia had inappropriately touched the victim and taken inappropriate photos of her while administering an X-ray exam.
Investigators connected this incident to a previous case from September 2022 involving a different 6-year-old patient allegedly sexually abused during an X-ray exam. Additionally, investigators discovered that Garcia had multiple inappropriate images of a 4-year-old victim on his phone; that victim was under anesthesia when the alleged abuse occurred.
Following his arrest, Garcia pleaded guilty to one count of attempted molestation of a child, one count of sexual conduct with a minor, and two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, all classified as dangerous crimes against children. The Chandler Police Department and sex crimes prosecutor Anshika Mehrotra were praised for securing justice. A separate case involves a California man who works as a DJ for local children's parties.
Glenn Canyon Childers is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl when she was unconscious after being given illicit drugs, according to authorities. During a law enforcement investigation, Childers was also found to be in possession of hundreds of files of child pornography. In another unrelated incident, a Florida doctor faces sexual battery charges after a patient reported finding footage of him sexually assaulting her during a cosmetic procedure.
The alleged assault involving Dr. Ronald F. DeMeo occurred on October 25, 2025, at his Miami practice. The victim, a 29-year-old woman, discovered the video evidence, prompting the charges. It remains unclear when Garcia stopped working at the Chandler dental office and the circumstances of his employment termination. The attorney's office stated that Garcia was trusted with the care of vulnerable children during routine dental procedures but exploited that trust for his own sexual gratification.
