Steven G. Rosser, 46, of Delaware, Ohio, was found guilty by a jury in February of conspiring to violate an individual’s civil rights.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A former vice officer for the Columbus Police Department was sentenced to 18 months in prison after he planted cocaine in an attempt to frame an owner of a strip club.
Steven G. Rosser, 46, of Delaware, Ohio, was found guilty by a jury in February of conspiring to violate an individual’s civil rights, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio. Rosser had worked for Columbus police for 19 years. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, court documents and trial testimony show that Rosser and others conspired in 2018 to deprive one of the owners of the Dollhouse, a gentlemen’s club in Columbus, of his civil rights by seizing and searching him and his vehicle without probable cause.
Prosecutors say Rosser was part of a scheme to frame the victim for cocaine possession. The actual amount of cocaine planted on the scene was a miniscule amount, approximately .017 gram. Rosser reportedly falsified documentation after the arrest to conceal the conspiracy activity. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
