The victim was found unconscious with a gunshot wound when first responders arrived, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Photos from the Clay County Sheriff's Office show Zack Coon II, 36, banging on the door at the public entrance to the Clay County Jail, shirtless and wearing a bulletproof vest. CCSO says after this incident, at around 5:09 a.m., Coon got into his car and drove out of the jail parking lot in a"reckless manor." This was the beginning of a search for Coon that led to his apprehension. When he was taken into custody, he was found with several weapons, including a bow and arrows, knives and ammunition, police said.A Clay County Fire Station called 911 shortly after, reporting that Coon was in their parking lot.
