Former Chargers defensive end Dwight Freeney has officially been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Freeney, who spent the majority of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, was presented into the Hall by Colts owner Jim Irsay.
While Freeney primarily spoke about his teammates from the Colts, including Hall of Famers Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, and Edgerrin James, Freeney did shout out the Chargers, even referring to former teammates Antonio Gates and Phillip Rivers as 'soon-to-be Hall of Famers.' The former first-round pick out of Syracuse in 2002 spent a decade with the Colts. He began his career with four consecutive double-digit sack seasons and later helped the Colts win the Super Bowl during the 2006 season over the Chicago Bears.
