Former British Prime Minister David Cameron will soon be known as Professor Cameron to students in Abu Dhabi.
Cameron, who has kept a low profile since departing 10 Downing Street, landed a gig teaching a three-week program starting next month at New York University's campus in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, featuring lectures about “practicing politics and government in the age of disruption,” according to a Financial Times report.Topics of discussion will reportedly include the war in Ukraine, the European migration crisis, and other hot-button topics, per the report.
The United Kingdom is currently on its fourth prime minister, Rishi Sunak, since Cameron stepped down. Sunak took over after former Prime Minister Liz Truss resigned in October when the markets got roiled by her expansionary fiscal policy agenda. Cameron was Britain's prime minister from 2010 to 2016.
“He led the Tory party for 11 years and the country for six years and will draw on his experience in teaching the course about politics and government in the age of populism and disruption," a friend of Cameron told the news outlet, describing the program as a “logical extension” of talks the former prime minister had given at other institutions.Cameron has held various gigs since departing as prime minister, such as working to establish a China-U.K.
