) - A man who worked as a janitor for Baker High School has been found not guilty of first-degree sexual abuse related to allegations that he touched a student. A jury reached the verdict in about an hour and 15 minutes on Tuesday in favor of Reginald Jerome Mitchell, 63, of Mobile.
Brutkiewicz told FOX10 News that the “credibility” of the prosecution witnesses was an issue. He maintained that the alleged victim had been caught skipping school and manufactured the allegation to deflect responsibility for that. Brutkiewicz said the girl alleged that the inappropriate touching took place in a small locker room near where her two best friends were but never called out or cried for help and that she did not tell them about the incident until the next day.Crash involving multiple motorcyclists on Highway 158, ALEA investigating Mobile PD arrests women accused of striking another on head with glass bottle, firing shots into carsJuvenile detained in connection with shooting on Hooper Street, MPD says
