The never-ending SBMM debate has been a point of contention in the CoD community ever since Activision introduced it in its FPS series. If you’ve seen any of the numerous social media posts and Reddit threads in the past, you’re probably already familiar with many players’ unending hate towards it. Surprisingly, though, instead of fans asking Treyarch to remove SBMM from Black Ops 6, some want the developers to bring in a different solution: ping-based matchmaking.
However, even more important than the skill level of players in a lobby is actually being able to play the game. And the only way to ensure a smooth experience in each match is to provide stable servers and decent netcode, which many on Reddit hope Treyarch introduces in Black Ops 6. u/D3LTTA, in particular, noted that “this has to be addressed before the game launches,” since MW3 and Warzone players still suffer from “packet bursts, lag spikes, and high ping.
