Still, another character is harboring even bigger bombshells from Beth and Rip. Rip and Beth both went to work for the 10-Petals Ranch after the tragic loss of their black angus cattle to foot-and-mouth disease. At the end of Dutton Ranch episode 5, Rip told Beth about the dead body he found on their land. Rip discovered the corpse of Wes Ayers at the end of Dutton Ranch's season premiere.
Rip kept this to himself, storing the body before dumping it in an abandoned mine shaft. After becoming the 10-Petals Ranch's new foreman, Rip learned about a missing ranch hand named Wes Ayers. Wheeler deduced that Wes was the body he found, although he still doesn't know who killed Wes and why. Still, Rip finally clued Beth in, unburdening himself of his huge secret.
