SEPANG: A drug syndicate was busted following the arrest of a middle-eastern man and the seizure of more than RM600,000 worth of ganja.
Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the raid was conducted at a condominium in Bandar Sierra 16, Puchong on Sunday ."We also detained a 23-year-old middle-eastern man who was using a tourist visa that had expired on Jan 17," he told a press conference on Thursday . Initial investigations revealed that the suspect has been actively trafficking drugs in Klang Valley for about four months, he said."The drugs seized are worth RM663,798 and we believe the suspect rented the condominium unit to store the drugs," he said.
The suspect is believed to have gotten the ganja supply in the northern part of Peninsular Malaysia before distributing it to drug pushers in Klang Valley, ACP Wan Kamarul Azran said. "The suspect had previously studied at a private college in the country from 2018 until 2020 before coming back to Malaysia on a tourist visa four months ago."The suspect has been remanded for seven days," he said.
