An Arkansas grocery store shooting has left two people dead and eight others wounded, including a police officer.
A shooting at a Fordyce, Arkansas, grocery store left two people dead and eight others wounded, including a police officer, according to police. In a statement released Friday, Arkansas State police said the shooting happened at the Mad Butcher grocery store. Video posted on social media showed at least one person lying in the parking lot, and in another video multiple gunshots could be heard.
A police officer was hurt but is expected to be OK; the suspect was critically injured, police said. In all, 10 people were shot. Fordyce is a city of about 3,200 people located 65 miles south of Little Rock. Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued the following statement: "I am thankful to law enforcement and first responders for their quick and heroic action to save lives," Sanders posted on the social media platform X.
