Ford Motor will recall 20,484 hybrid crossover SUVs, including certain Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair models from 2020 to 2024, due to a potential battery defect. The NHTSA states a manufacturing defect could lead to an internal short circuit and battery failure. Dealers will update the battery energy control module software and replace the high voltage battery pack free of charge.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday that Ford Motor would recall 20,484 hybrid crossover SUVs over battery concerns.
