This beefed up Ford Ranger Super Duty can tow nearly 10,000 pounds, but won't be sold in the U.S.
A Ford Ranger Super Duty wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card this year, but it’s officially happening, and Ford Australia released its first teaser for the work-centric midsize pickup.Emphasis here is on Ford of Australia, because this truck is destined to be sold in the land down under. We double-checked with Ford concerning U.S. availability, and a spokesperson told Road Track that “there are no current plans to offer Ranger Super Duty in North America.
This added capability is being asked for by emergency service operators, farmers, utility workers, and more, Ford says. Details weren’t provided, but the automaker says the Ranger Super Duty has enhanced off-road capability, as well. Specific enhancements made to the truck will need to wait for the formal reveal, but expect to see frame and suspension strengthening alongside possible cooling and durability enhancements to the powertrain.
