Sources within Ford says the carmaker is already in the middle of sales training for the all-new Territory, and while information remains vague, the Philippines will likely follow China and Vietnam’s lead in terms of specifications.
In terms of styling, the next-generation Territory will don the carmaker’s “Progressive Energy in Strength” design. This gives the SUV a large wing-like grille that blends with a full-length LED DRL at the top. The LED headlights, like so many other SUVs, will be split from the DRLs and will be pushed to the middle of the bumper. At the back, it will continue to have “TERRITORY” spelt out in the middle of the tailgate, but now framed by 3D-style LED taillights.
Powering the next-generation Territory is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine which Ford says gives the same performance as Ford’s own normally aspirated 2.0-liter. True enough, its peak 170 horsepower output matches the old Focus, while also managing to deliver 260 Nm of torque. The CVT from the previous-generation Territory’s gone in favor of a modern 7-speed automatic.
