Ford has now increased the F-150 Lightning's price for the fourth time as order books for the electric truck reopen.
revealed the issue as a battery cell manufacturing defect.
Due to production bottlenecks, Ford only managed to deliver 15,617 of the trucks in 2022, but it had 200,000 reservations at the end of 2021 when it stopped taking new reservations. Ford hasn't said when it plans to reopen the reservation process. The F-150 Lightning Pro is the version designed for commercial use, and at present Ford is only offering it to commercial customers. The automaker said the F-150 Lightning Pro is currently sold out for retail customers.
