Vladimir Putin's spokesman has said that a plan by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to force Russia into making peace was a 'fatal mistake.'The comments by Dmitry Peskov follow Zelensky's address to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, in which he said that Putin had 'broken so many international norms and rules that he won't stop on his own.''Russia can only be forced into peace,' the Ukrainian leader said.
Elements of it have been reported by the Associated Press, including the security guarantees provided by membership of NATO, plans to bolster Ukraine's defenses including air defense capabilities, and tougher sanctions against Russia.
